Why is a first birthday different?
Only a year ago your baby was tiny in your arms. A first birthday is a day you will remember far more than your baby will: when they grow up, they will look at the photos and videos and hear about this day from you. So as you plan, think about two things together: your baby's comfort and your own memories.
At Bonjur Party House we prepare first birthday celebrations with themed decorations, food and a mini disco. Below are the steps that will help you as you plan.
1. Decide on the concept
Starting with the concept makes every other decision easier. The colours, the decorations, the cake and the favours all follow from it. At Bonjur you can choose from different first birthday concepts and, if you wish, we can also prepare a boutique theme just for you. If you cannot decide, start from your baby's favourite toy, a favourite book, or a colour that reminds you of them.
2. Write the guest list
First decide whom you will invite: grandparents, aunts, uncles, close friends… If most of your guests are adults, a layout where they are comfortable matters more. Our venue has a separate section for adults, where you can host your guests as you would at home. Tell us how many adults and children you expect and we will plan the layout together.
3. Think about the food
At a big family gathering the table is the heart of the celebration. We prepare our food in the Bonjur kitchen with quality ingredients. We talk through the menu together when we speak, and if you would like the cake to match the concept, we plan that then as well.
4. Share your memories
So much changes in a year: the first smile, the first tooth, the first steps… You can share the photos and videos you have gathered since your baby was born with your guests in a video show at the celebration. We suggest you start choosing them early; picking from a whole year can take longer than you expect.
5. Choose the favours
A small keepsake for your guests to take home makes the day last. Some of our first birthday favour options:

- Gift soap and scented stone frame
- Placemat and memory board
6. Do not forget the fun
Our first birthday celebrations include a mini disco. When the music starts, grown-ups and little ones alike can join in, so keep your camera ready.
