What a Workshop Day Looks Like

Playing with art at Bonjur

“Every child is an artist,” said Picasso. The Bonjur Kids' Workshop starts from those words: we believe the best thing we can give the artists of the future is time and care. Our workshops are prepared for children aged 4 to 10. So what awaits your child on a workshop day?

First we choose the right workshop

A workshop day really begins at home. When you choose a workshop for your child, we suggest you ask these questions:

  • What is your child interested in?
  • What do they enjoy doing most?
  • Is their age right for the activity they are drawn to?
  • Do they prefer working alone or together with friends?

The answers show which workshop will make your child happy. If you cannot decide, give us a call and we will choose a workshop together that suits your child's interests and age.

For children who love making things

Some children love to make something with their own hands. Our workshops for them:

  • Kitchen workshop
  • Design your own toy: the art of wooden toys
  • Soap workshop
  • Painting and paper marbling (ebru) workshop
  • Face painting workshop

In these workshops children meet different art forms and find new ways to express themselves.

For children who cannot sit still

The zumba and dance workshop is a fun group session set to music. While it develops the children's sense of rhythm and their dancing, it teaches them to move as a group and opens the way to new friendships. Zumba gives children other things too:

  • Supports the development of muscles and bones
  • Contributes to physical and emotional development
  • Strengthens social development
  • Improves understanding and thinking skills

For children who love to imagine

Creative drama is an important space for growth and freedom, especially for children in the city who have few chances to go out into the street or a garden and play with friends. Although the main aim of drama is not to entertain, the children do have fun and feel happy along the way. Creative drama aims to give children these skills:

  • Working together and finding solutions
  • Listening and empathy
  • Imagination, creativity and motivation
  • Recognising and making sense of their feelings
  • Managing excitement, anger, worry and stress

Having fun and learning

The aim of the workshops is not only to teach something; it matters just as much that the children enjoy themselves. As we like to say: “We have fun and we learn.”

One-off or for a term?

Our workshops can be one-off sessions or run for a term. If your child is trying something for the first time, a one-off workshop is a good start; if they want to go further in something they love, a term suits them better. You can choose among different art forms such as painting, storytelling, dance, drama and animation.

Teachers and setting

We are a team that loves having fun and making others smile, and takes that job seriously. We work with teachers who are good in their fields. Our goal is for children to use their creativity in a fun setting and to gain artistic, cultural and social experience.
